DESCRIPTION

The main objective of the course is to provide participants with specialised and useful knowledge in the field of slow tourism. They will gain skills in planning and creating courses on this theme, as well as tools to motivate students to explore life away from the hustle and bustle of the city.The idea of the course is to give teachers the tools to get students closer to nature and make them reduce the time they spend in front of a phone, TV or computer screen.The course is mainly aimed at teachers who need support in restoring work-life balance, peace of mind, and increasing motivation for action, but it can also be helpful for students of any age and within any stage of education.The course provides an opportunity to broaden perspective and shape attitudes, including openness and creativity in planning one’s own activities, leisure time and future career…

The training provides a comprehensive knowledge of how to set your own timetable, course programme, incorporate games and activities.This course is also recommended for anyone who enjoys adventure and wants to visit the amazing country of Poland.

COMPETENCES

The course will enable participants to:

  • Acquire knowledge, skills and competencies related to slow tourism.
  • Gain practical experience related to slow food and slow cities.
  • Learn about Polish cuisine, including wine and oil.
  • Experience slow tourism and agrotourism activities.
  • Deepen understanding of the principles of slow tourism and how to apply those new ideas at school.
  • Increase awareness of the link between environmental and personal development.
  • Increase knowledge of the methodology and framework for teaching the general themes of slow tourism.
  • Learn how to test and assess learners’ performance on the topic under study.

  • DAY 1: WHAT IS SLOW TOURISM?

Introduction to slow tourism.

Summary and conclusions.

METHODOLOGY

The course focuses mainly on practical training and experiential learning. The classes are filled with contact with nature, practical tools, moderated discussions, exercises and games. Each participant receives materials prepared by the tutor. During the course, the tutor uses multimedia presentations, dedicated tools, offers participation in workshops, outdoor activities and games. The programme is dedicated to both teachers and students. Many of the issues presented during the course will be helpful for application in the school environment.

The participant will also learn about:

  • The reasons and objectives of slow tourism,
  • The principles of balance in life,
  • The importance of slow life in the business area,
  • The benefits for local businesses,
  • Ways to inspire students,
  • Ways to deal with stress in life and work,
  • Problem solving techniques.
