Course Programme


Improve your Spanish pronunciation and vocabulary through active participation, effective communication and constructive discussion in a technological environment. Moreover, the modules of the course combine linguistic, educational and cultural aspects that are completely adjusted to each group-specific expectations, needs and level.

Through a basic knowledge of the language and the culture, you will improve the possibilities of building bridges with European colleagues and institutions.

This course will enable you to improve your language competencies towards future mobility opportunities and promote these programmes in your home institution and among your students.  iDevelop helps you get the motivation to learn a new language!

Day 1 (5 hours)  

Introduction & Welcoming

– Presentation of participants – personal and professional background, expectations

– Test to check participants’ level

– Greetings, farewells and courtesy

– Useful phrases for the classroom

– The Alphabet

– Vocabulary and activities on personal information

– Numbers and saying age

– Countries and nationalities

– Colours

– Professions

– Verbs: ‘ser’ and ‘tener’

– Culture: Spanish names and surnames

Day 2 (5 hours)

– Summary of the previous day

– Days of the week and months of the year. The seasons

– Dates and birthdays

– Telling the time

– Places in the city

– Prepositions of place

– How to give directions

– Verb: ‘estar’

– Culture: Difference between TÚ / USTED

– Culture: Timetables in Spain

– Summary of the day, introduction to tomorrow’s topics

Day 3 (5 hours)

– Summary of the previous day

– Vocabulary and activities on family

– Learn and practice adjectives and possessive adjectives

– Free time and hobbies

– Verbs: ‘gustar’, ‘encantar’ and ‘odiar’ and practice saying likes and dislikes

– Physical descriptions and personality

– How to use comparatives and superlatives

– Culture: The Spanish family

– Summary of the day, introduction to tomorrow’s topics

Day 4 (5 hours)

– Summary of the previous day, any questions

– Vocabulary and activities on food and traditional Spanish food

– Restaurant vocabulary and how to order food

– Practicing prices

– Present simple tense

– Recipes and instructions. Food quantifiers and containers

– In the market. The shopping list

– Culture: Spanish gastronomy

– Summary of the day

Day 5 (5 hours)

Course Summary & Goodbye Session

– Summary of the previous day, any questions

– The Spanish language in the world

– Spanish culture and stereotypes

– Festivities in Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries

– Expressing opinions, agreement and disagreement

– Tongue twisters

– Culture: Traditions and festivities

– Culture: Spanish lifestyle

– General revision of contents

– Summary of the day and of the entire course, reflecting on outcomes
